As a Project Architect at Z+P you will be required to work on multiple projects and/or accounts. You may work individually (depending on project size and scope) or in small teams. Our project types consists of education (K-12) and commercial/retail. Interested candidates should possess full knowledge of architecture practice, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be proficient with various design software. In order to succeed, you must be able to function in a fast-paced environment and be able to accept change.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Current active California License to practice Architecture.
  2. 10 years of Project Management or equivalent experience.
  3. Thorough knowledge of California Building Codes and ADA.
  4. Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  5. Ability to work well with others.
  6. Computer skills including AutoCAD (latest release) and Microsoft Office (Photoshop experience a plus).

Assigned Duties

  1. Perform all duties of a Project Architect on Projects assigned by the Principal.
  2. Perform all duties of a Job Captain on Projects where no Job Captain has been assigned.
  3. Prepare and manage project schedules.
  4. Provide all project communication.
  5. Interface with Clients, consultants and jurisdictional agencies.
  6. Perform preparation of schematic and design development documents.
  7. Assign project team work to be performed.
  8. Prepare sketches and mark up plans as required for project team.
  9. Review and red mark project construction documents at various milestones.
  10. Coordinate with consultant team.
  11. Attend and conduct Client and/or School Board presentations.
  12. Perform site visits and investigations as necessary for the development of pertinent information to complete Projects accurately and correctly.
  13. Other tasks as necessary for the success of the project.
